“Jonathan,
I can’t thank you enough for your insight. I felt like what you shared with me yesterday will change my life— my creative side has been validated as an integral part of my person— not just a part-time hobby! As soon as I got home, I sat down at the piano and started composing. It felt great. It’s going to take some time, but I’m even more committed to publishing a book of short stories, and I’m going to work out a plan and timeline as to how to make that happen.
I’d like to share an old poem of mine with you. It describes the joy and pleasure I feel when I write. I hope it inspires you to continue encouraging your clients and mentees to embrace their literary and creatives sides!
Poetry
The rhymes are water flowing
The pencil wears like silk
Never telling, only showing
Words you drink like milk
My eager mouth overflows
With a curious liquid grace
I follow where the river goes
And never stop to erase
Blessings,”
